Humble Beginnings & Determination
Dr. Rajendra was born into an economically underprivileged family in Vinjamur, a small village near Nellore, Andhra Pradesh. Despite the hardships, he pursued his education with unwavering determination, funding his own studies through sheer hard work and commitment. Throughout his academic journey, his mother stood by him as a pillar of strength and inspiration, instilling in him strong values and a deep sense of purpose.
Early Service & Family Commitment
He completed his MBBS from Anantapur Government Medical College. Following his graduation, he served the Andhra Pradesh State Government for 7 years, then continued his service with the Indian Railways for 5 years, and again returned to state government service for another 5 years. During this period, he also took responsibility for his family and arranged his sister’s marriage.
Specialized Medical Training
Dr. Rajendra worked as a Senior Intensivist for 3 years at Medi Cover Hospital, Nellore, where he gained hands-on experience in critical care. Later, he secured a government seat for MD in General Medicine at Narayana Medical College, where he showcased exceptional academic performance. Within a short time, he also earned a coveted seat for DM in Cardiology, and successfully completed it with distinction.
Advanced Cardiology Expertise
To further enhance his specialization, he pursued Pediatric Cardiology training at Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute, and advanced training in Complex Cardiology under Dr. Shivakrishna at Amara Hospital, Tirupati. He also completed a prestigious Complex Coronary Fellowship at Dr. Freeman Hospital, UK.
