- About : Dr. Rajya Lakshmi Edupuganti is one of India’s youngest female neurosurgeons, known for her academic excellence, multilingual fluency, and cutting-edge work in brain, spine, nerve, and pain intervention therapies. She is currently working at EVR Super Speciality Hospital, Gudivada.

Dr. Rajya Lakshmi Edupuganti was brought up in a remote village named Mudinepally. She completed her schooling at Little Flower English Medium School in Mudinepally and demonstrated deep dedication to her education from a young age. With the support of her teachers and family, she pursued her dreams relentlessly.
She completed her intermediate at Sri Chaitanya Junior College, Vijayawada, and later secured admission into MBBS at Meenakshi Medical College, Kanchipuram. Despite early challenges, she excelled, winning 12 gold medals during her MBBS.
She cracked multiple prestigious entrance exams with top ranks, including COMEDK (Rank 14), Tamil Nadu (Rank 10), APMC (Ranks 10 and 41), CMC Vellore (Rank 3), and CMC Ludhiana (Ranks 2 and 3). She then chose to pursue MS in General Surgery at JJM Medical College, Davangere, and completed it with a gold medal while gaining hands-on experience at Chigateri Government Hospital.
Before completing her MS exams, she cleared the NEET SS with top ranks: Rank 1 – NIMS, Rank 1 – NTRUHS Andhra Pradesh, Rank 3 – Tamil Nadu, and Rank 3 – BIN – IPGMER, West Bengal. She opted for MCh Neurosurgery at the prestigious IPGMER & Bangur Institute of Neurosciences, Kolkata.
She was the only female PG in her neurosurgery batch and successfully adapted to cultural and linguistic challenges while excelling in the field. She completed MCh Neurosurgery and cleared the DNB Neurosurgery exam on her first attempt. She also earned the MRCS (UK) during her MS and pursued PGDM and PGDDM during her MCh residency.
Dr. Rajya Lakshmi trained in Neuroendoscopy under Dr. V. R. Adholia at Government Medical College, Jabalpur, and later completed a fellowship in Neurointerventional Pain Medicine under Dr. D. P. Dureja. She is fluent in Telugu, Tamil, English, Kannada, Hindi, and other regional languages.
At just 28 years old, she began her professional neurosurgery career. She is a dedicated academician, known for mentoring MCh aspirants through Concept Chennai and for authoring the widely used book "Neurosurgery MCQs".
Currently, she serves at EVR Super Speciality Hospital, Gudivada, and leads remote clinics in Kuchipudi, Vijayawada, Machilipatnam, and surrounding areas. Her expertise covers brain and spine surgeries, peripheral nerve procedures, and minimally invasive pain interventions.
She regularly contributes to national and international academic programs and has received multiple recognitions at conferences such as YNF, YF, and YNN in 2022, 2023, and 2024. Her passion for patient care and education makes her a valued part of the EVR Super Speciality Hospital team.
